Career and Technical Education (CTE)

Career and Technical Education (CTE) prepares students for a wide range of careers. These careers require varying levels of education—from high school and postsecondary certificates to two- and four-year college degrees. Career and Technical Education covers a variety of challenging fields that constantly evolve due to the changing global economy.

Copper Canyon CTE educators constantly review and update their curriculum to reflect aligned business and industry standards along with rigorous Arizona Academic Standards to prepare our students to meet the demands of the future. CTE classes develop the skills most sought after by employees. These skills include:

  • Strong academic and critical thinking skills
  • Strong technical skills in a student’s chosen field
  • Employability skills of teamwork, communication, and effective work habits

Business Operations: Jobs include data entry, management, filing, records management, and entrepreneurship.

Fashion Design and Merchandising: Jobs include fashion designer, costume designer, merchandiser, graphic artist, pattern maker, accessory designer, fashion illustrator, technical designer, sample maker, shoe designer, product designer, trend forecaster, fashion journalist, showroom manager, display coordinator, retail manager, textile designer, apparel buyer, fashion planner, and production planner.

Finance: finance, banking, real estate, bookkeeping, accounting, insurance, economist, and analyst.

Communication & Information Systems

Digital Communication; Jobs include photographer, graphic designer, newscaster, photojournalist, writer/author/editor, producer, and radio/news editor.

Digital Photography Jobs include studio photographer, magazine photographer or editor, fashion/editorial photographer, food photographer/stylist, commercial photographer, image processor or re-toucher, and photojournalist.

    Medical Assisting Services Jobs include medical assistant, medical office assistant, patient prep, insurance, medical coding/billing, x-ray technician, phlebotomist, nurse assistant, and nurse.
