Career and Technical Education
Career and Technical Education (CTE) prepares students for a wide range of careers. These careers require varying levels of education—from high school and postsecondary certificates to two- and four-year college degrees. Career and Technical Education covers a variety of challenging fields that constantly evolve due to the changing global economy. La Joya CTE educators constantly review and update their curriculum to reflect aligned business and industry standards along with rigorous Arizona Academic Standards to prepare our students to meet the demands of the future. CTE classes develop the skills most sought after by employees. These skills include:
- Strong academic and critical thinking skills
- Strong technical skills in a student’s chosen field
- Employability skills of teamwork, communication, and effective work habits
Business Courses
In a world that is constantly changing, the La Joya Community High School Business Department provides quality programs in a learning environment that stresses ethical behavior, appreciation for diversity, and personal growth.
We encourage students to develop technical skills, prepare for a career, and develop basic skills that can help them become competitive in the workforce. We also expose students to strategies such as critical thinking and academic cross referencing.
