Message from Our Superintendent

Superintendent's Message: April 2024

Dear TUHSD Community,

No Foolin’, April is here! It’s hard to tell that it’s already April when March Madness is creeping into our backyard. We will play the NCAA Final Four at State Farm Stadium just a month prior to State Farm’s most exciting events — our high school graduations!

Graduation is a very exciting milestone in life, but it can also be a time when someone can begin to feel unsure about their next step. If you are one of our parents and your student doesn’t have a plan on what to do after graduation, then please remind them to schedule some time with their school counselor. I know that everyone who needs help won’t always take the time to ask for it which is why we are in the planning stages of a very exciting event – Commitment Day 2024!

What is Commitment Day? I’m glad you asked! Commitment Day will take place at State Farm Stadium, similar to graduation. This event will be in September, and we are still waiting to confirm a date since they have another important client that also frequently uses their venue at that time of year. We will bring out all our seniors (students who are currently juniors), and we will let them know about all our university/college, military, and business partners that would like to have them join their team after graduation. These will be personalized offers for your students! We will have more information coming soon, but we’re not just here to help students graduate, we want them to “graduate and…”!

Also, as a reminder, you can still contribute to our district tax credit through April 15. If you need a tax credit, then we could certainly use it. Your tax credit contribution will help to extend opportunities for our students through extracurricular activities.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to the Tolleson Union High School District.

Important Dates:

  • Monday, April 1: Spring Recess (No School)

Please remember to check our district website, our Facebook page, and our X page (formerly Twitter), and Instagram for the latest TUHSD information.

Sincerely,

Jeremy Calles
